Choose the full en-US EXE listed here when you need a copyable setup package. The resource linked below explains the documented silent /S option.

The illustrated Firefox Setup.exe filename must be replaced with your actual filename. Do not apply the EXE switch to an MSI or a small web stub.

Linux application tarball

Choose the upstream tarball if you specifically want Mozilla’s application outside the distribution’s normal package workflow.

It contains the application, not source to compile. Check Mozilla’s required libraries and installation instructions; extracting it does not supply missing system libraries or configure your distribution’s package manager.

What Mozilla Firefox does

Mozilla Firefox is an open-source browser for Windows, macOS, and Linux built with Mozilla's Gecko engine and SpiderMonkey JavaScript engine. This record retains older en-US Windows x64, macOS, and Linux x86_64 packages for Firefox 154.0.1 in Mozilla's release archive. Mozilla's current-version metadata reports 155.0.1 on September 11, 2026. The separate Windows 32-bit link is a rolling endpoint and resolved to 155.0.1 during that check; it is not the same pinned build. Compare the current supported release before a new deployment. The recorded SHA-256 values come from Mozilla's release manifest; this audit did not independently validate the manifest's OpenPGP signature or run the packages.

Enhanced Tracking Protection uses Mozilla-maintained lists and different Standard, Strict, and Custom settings. It can reduce selected tracking techniques but does not block every tracker, fingerprinting method, malicious page, or data disclosure, and stricter modes can affect site behavior. Add-ons have their own permissions and update channels. Multi-Account Containers is an optional Mozilla extension, not a guarantee that accounts are isolated from operating-system, network, or endpoint observers.

Firefox Sync requires a Mozilla account and connectivity. Mozilla documents client-side encryption for synchronized data, but that protection does not secure an unlocked or compromised endpoint and does not make all browsing traffic private from sites or networks. The package can be staged offline; Sync, updates, add-ons, Safe Browsing data, and normal web use still require network access.

Try a practical task

Organise references with bookmark folders

Build a small reading list for a project without relying on open tabs surviving every restart. This exercise uses two public pages and a named folder.

Before you start

Have two public reference pages ready.
Use the desktop browser; mobile bookmark controls differ.

Bookmark the first page

Open the first reference and select the star in the address bar. Edit its name so it describes the page rather than accepting an unclear title.
Choose a folder

Use the bookmark editor or Manage Bookmarks to create a Project references folder and move the bookmark into it.
Add the second page

Bookmark the second reference in the same folder. In Manage Bookmarks, check both URLs and remove only duplicates created for this exercise.
Test retrieval

Close the two test tabs, then reopen the references from the folder. Keep an export if this list must survive a profile replacement.

Expected result

Both references reopen from one named folder, with titles that make their purpose clear.

If the result is different

The toolbar is hidden: Open the bookmarks menu or Manage Bookmarks; a hidden toolbar does not mean the bookmarks are gone.
A restored backup replaces existing entries: Read the restore warning first. Exporting HTML and restoring a JSON backup have different merge and replacement behaviour.

Bookmarks save addresses, not an offline copy of the page. Save permitted page content separately if you must read it without connectivity.
