Rufus USB Creator Overview
Rufus is a free, open-source utility for Windows that creates bootable USB drives quickly and reliably, developed by Pete Batard. It is the tool many people reach for when they need to turn an ISO image into a bootable USB stick, whether to install Windows or another operating system, run a live system, or flash firmware utilities. Despite being tiny and not requiring installation, it is notably fast and packed with options: it can target both UEFI and legacy BIOS systems, choose between GPT and MBR partition schemes, format drives in various file systems, and create Windows To Go drives that run Windows directly from USB. It can download official Windows ISOs for you and, when needed, adjust a Windows installer to ease certain setup requirements. Rufus is portable, free of bundled extras, and trusted across the IT and enthusiast communities. The full offline installer holds the complete application, so it sets up on a machine with no internet connection. This page links to the official Rufus download.
