Telegram Desktop is the free desktop client for the Telegram messaging service, available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Telegram is a cloud-based messenger, so your chats sync across all your devices, and it supports one-on-one and group messaging (with very large groups), channels for broadcasting to big audiences, file sharing with generous size limits, voice and video calls, and bots. It is known for speed and a feature-rich interface; standard chats are stored in the cloud, while optional Secret Chats offer end-to-end encryption on a device. The desktop app installs the full client and works on a machine without an internet connection during setup, though messaging requires connectivity.
