Private Internet Access Overview
Private Internet Access (PIA) is a consumer VPN service with apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux, notable for its open-source client applications and a very large server network. It encrypts your traffic and offers extensive configurability — choice of encryption strength, protocols (including WireGuard and OpenVPN), a kill switch, split tunneling, and built-in ad/tracker blocking (MACE). PIA is US-based and has had its no-logs claims tested in court cases where no usable data could be produced. It supports many simultaneous connections per subscription and suits users who want control and transparency. It is a paid subscription service; the desktop app installs the client, and connecting requires internet access. This page links to Kape's official Private Internet Access download.
