Geekbench Overview
Geekbench is a cross-platform benchmarking tool from Primate Labs for Windows, macOS, and Linux (and mobile) that measures processor and, with its Compute test, graphics/GPU performance. It runs a series of workloads modeled on real-world tasks — such as image processing, compression, and machine learning — to produce single-core and multi-core scores that can be compared across very different devices and operating systems, which is why its results are widely referenced. A free version runs the benchmarks and uploads results to its online database; paid editions add offline use and more features. Its full installer holds the complete application, so it sets up on a machine with no internet connection. It also publishes a large public results browser, so you can look up and compare the scores of specific devices before buying. Download Geekbench from Geekbench's official source, linked here.
