HWMonitor Overview
HWMonitor is a free hardware-monitoring program for Windows from CPUID that reads a PC's main health sensors and displays them in real time. It shows temperatures for the CPU, GPU, motherboard, and drives, along with voltages, fan speeds, and power consumption where the hardware exposes them, listing minimum, maximum, and current values so you can watch how a system behaves under load. It is commonly used to check cooling, verify temperatures during gaming or stress tests, and diagnose overheating. It reads a wide range of common sensor chips. The complete installer means HWMonitor sets up without fetching anything online during installation. A paired Pro edition adds remote monitoring over a network and graph plotting, but the free version covers what most users need to watch a single PC's temperatures and voltages.
