Google Docs Overview
Google Docs is Google's free, web-based word processor, part of the Google Workspace suite, designed around real-time collaboration. Multiple people can edit the same document simultaneously and see each other's changes live, with comments, suggestions, and a full version history that lets you revert to any earlier state. It handles standard word-processing needs — styles, images, tables, headers, and more — stores documents in Google Drive, and works in the browser as well as offline through the Chrome browser or its mobile apps. It can import and export Microsoft Word and other formats. Because it runs in the browser, there is no traditional desktop installer. It also includes smart-compose suggestions, voice typing, and add-ons that extend it with extra tools. This page points to the genuine Google Docs source from Google, not a third-party host.
