Flathub Overview
Flathub is the central app store and distribution platform for Flatpak applications on Linux. Flatpak is a system for packaging Linux desktop software so that it runs in a sandbox with its own dependencies, independent of the underlying distribution, and Flathub is the main place those applications are published and updated. From Flathub you can get a wide range of desktop programs, from web browsers and office tools to creative software and games, that work the same way across many Linux distributions. Applications are installed either through a graphical software center that uses Flathub as a source or with the flatpak command line, and updates are delivered centrally so installed apps stay current. By providing a single, distribution-agnostic catalog, Flathub has become a primary way for Linux users to find and install desktop software and for developers to reach users across the whole Linux ecosystem.
