CrystalDiskInfo Overview
CrystalDiskInfo is a free, open-source disk-health monitoring tool for Windows that reads the S.M.A.R.T. data reported by hard drives and SSDs to show their condition and warn of potential failure. It presents each drive's health status (Good, Caution, or Bad), temperature, power-on hours and count, and the detailed S.M.A.R.T. attributes behind that assessment, and it can alert you by email or sound if a drive's health declines. Checking S.M.A.R.T. data lets you spot a failing drive before it dies, so you can back up and replace it in time. The download is the complete CrystalDiskInfo setup, so it installs offline without pulling extra files. It supports a wide range of drive interfaces, including some external USB enclosures, and a resident mode keeps monitoring in the background and warns you the moment a drive's health changes. The official CrystalDiskInfo download is linked on this page, straight from Noriyuki Miyazaki.
