What AnyDesk does
AnyDesk is a network-dependent remote-control application for Windows, macOS, Linux, and other platforms. The Windows EXE and macOS DMG URLs recorded here are publisher-controlled rolling files: their version, bytes, size, signer, and hash can change without the URL changing. Capture those properties after download before approval; the Linux page supplies distribution-specific packages rather than one universal file.
Remote sessions require connectivity to AnyDesk services or a separately licensed on-premises design. The publisher documents outbound TCP 80, 443, or 6568 and AnyDesk domains, with UDP ports used for local discovery. Firewalls, proxies, latency, bandwidth, display complexity, encoding, and endpoint load determine responsiveness; no universal low-latency or bandwidth advantage is claimed here.
Unattended access is disabled by default and should use a strong unique password, supported two-factor controls, restricted permissions, logging, and endpoint access policy. Installation is recommended when access must survive sign-out or restart. On Linux, incoming sessions require Xorg in the current support matrix; Wayland has narrower outgoing-session support.
Free use is limited to personal use; professional use requires an appropriate license. File transfer, clipboard, address books, recordings, authentication, and telemetry create data-handling boundaries. No session, port scan, unattended-access test, signer check, performance comparison, or privacy capture was performed.
