Download summary

Sublime Text is a developer tool for Windows/macOS/Linux, published by Sublime HQ. A direct package URL is recorded below. The host may be the publisher, a release repository, a CDN, or another distribution source documented by the publisher. Some packages still fetch optional components during setup. The recorded publisher site is sublimetext.com. We do not host or modify installer files.

Publisher documentation

These references support the package and behavior notes. Documentation checks are separate from the recorded URL-check date and do not represent an installation test.

Choose a package

Linux package manager or application archive

Use the DEB, RPM or pacman package for a supported distribution when you want package-manager tracking. The generic TAR.XZ is an application archive with a different setup workflow.

The .pkg.tar.xz files are pacman packages, despite their archive suffix. Prepare dependencies and trusted signing keys for disconnected systems. An unrestricted evaluation period does not make continued use free.

Package guidance is based on the linked documentation, checked 11 September 2026. No installation test is claimed.

Publisher SHA-256 reference values

The two DEB values match the APT index. The RPM value matches the separately linked RPM repository metadata. Windows and macOS files are not covered. Compared on 11 September 2026 with the publisher’s reference.

Compare only with the exact named package. A matching hash alone does not establish publisher identity or package safety.

Verification scope

A direct package URL is recorded above. We have not independently installed every listed build or confirmed that setup remains fully offline.

We do not host software files. Links may resolve to a publisher domain, its release repository, app store, CDN, or a documented distribution host — confirm the final hostname, publisher signature, version, and architecture before deployment. Recorded URLs last checked 30 August 2026; content last updated 11 September 2026.

What Sublime Text does

Sublime Text is Sublime HQ's proprietary code and text editor for Windows x64, universal Intel/Apple-silicon macOS, and x64 or ARM64 Linux. Its documented editing tools include Goto Anything, project symbol navigation, multiple selections, split layouts, syntax definitions, the command palette, configurable settings and key bindings, plugins, and build-system integration. Performance and maximum practical file size depend on the file, syntax, plugins, settings, storage, and available memory; this page does not claim the editor is faster than another product.

This record pins stable Sublime Text 4 Build 4200. The publisher exposes a Windows x64 installer and ZIP, a universal Mac ZIP, and x64 or ARM64 Linux packages. There is no publisher-listed Windows ARM64 build. The Windows ZIP and generic Linux archives avoid a package installer, but application data such as settings, sessions, caches, and third-party packages normally persists in user-specific directories unless a deployment deliberately relocates it.

Sublime Text may be evaluated without an enforced time limit, but the publisher states that a license is required for continued use. Personal licenses include a defined update-eligibility period and then remain valid for covered builds; business licensing follows separate subscription terms. Confirm which users, devices, and releases a license covers rather than interpreting an unrestricted evaluation as freeware. Core local editing does not require a service account, while update checks and package discovery or retrieval need connectivity.

Package Control is installed separately and manages packages that can include Python code executed by the editor. Those packages have separate maintainers, permissions, licenses, update paths, compatibility, telemetry, and supply-chain risk; their features are not treated as built into Sublime Text. Safe Mode disables user customizations and third-party packages for diagnosis, but it is not a malware scanner. Build systems invoke external compilers, interpreters, linters, or test tools that must be installed, licensed, configured, and trusted separately.

The official download page lists the versioned artifacts, but it does not publish SHA-256 values for the Windows or macOS files. Sublime's APT and RPM repository metadata exposes the selected Linux digests recorded below, and Linux packages have publisher signature paths or repository signing. Because a publisher package can be re-signed under the same build path, the Build 4200 URLs are version-pinned but should not all be described as byte-immutable. This audit did not run the files or validate signatures; Windows and macOS verification remains a manual signer and provenance check.

Product features

  • Goto Anything, symbol navigation, multiple selections, and split layouts
  • Command palette, syntax definitions, configurable settings, and key bindings
  • Build systems invoke separately installed external tools
  • Package Control and its third-party executable packages are separate trust decisions
  • Windows x64, universal macOS, and x64 or ARM64 Linux packages

Installation notes

Grouped by the package types recorded on this page — not a claim that every listed build was independently tested on every supported platform.

Windows Windows archive (ZIP/7Z)

  1. 1

Extract the recorded file (sublime_text_build_4200_x64.zip) into a separate folder and check the publisher's instructions for the executable or setup program inside. ZIP/7Z describes compression, not installation behavior.

  2. 2

A no-installer build may still store settings, credentials, caches, or Registry entries outside that folder. Check Sublime Text's configuration and removal instructions before moving or deleting it.

Windows Windows installer (EXE)

  1. 1

Download the recorded file (sublime_text_build_4200_x64_setup.exe). If it has a digital signature, inspect the signer and validation result in Properties → Digital Signatures. If no signature is present, follow the publisher's documented verification method; a missing signature does not authenticate the file.

  2. 2

Check any Windows warning before proceeding. A SmartScreen reputation warning is not signature verification; stop if the publisher is unexpected or the file is reported as malicious.

  3. 3

Follow the publisher's setup prompts to finish; options vary by release, so review each screen rather than clicking through.

macOS macOS binary archive (ZIP/7Z)

  1. 1

Extract the recorded file (sublime_text_build_4200_mac.zip); a ZIP or 7Z archive is not a macOS disk image and may contain an app bundle or command-line binaries rather than an installer.

  2. 2

Follow the publisher's package-specific instructions, then verify any code signature before the first launch.

Linux Arch Linux package (pacman)

  1. 1

Use the recorded file (sublime-text-4200-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz) only on a compatible Arch-based system. It contains a package-manager payload; extracting it as a standalone application does not perform the documented installation.

  2. 2

Follow the publisher’s pacman instructions and review the transaction and required privileges. For a disconnected host, prepare trusted dependencies and signing keys separately; never disable signature checks to make an unavailable dependency install.

Linux Debian/Ubuntu package (DEB)

  1. 1

Use the compatible distribution's package manager to install the local DEB and review its proposed changes. Missing dependencies require a reachable repository or a prepared local dependency set.

  2. 2

For disconnected deployment, collect dependencies for the target release and architecture first. A local DEB file alone does not establish a complete offline installation.

Linux Fedora/openSUSE package (RPM)

  1. 1

Use the publisher-supported distribution's package manager (such as DNF or Zypper) and review the proposed dependencies. An RPM is not automatically compatible with every RPM-based distribution.

  2. 2

Missing dependencies need repository access or a prepared local dependency set; check this before taking the package to a disconnected machine.

Linux Linux binary archive

  1. 1

Extract the recorded file (sublime_text_build_4200_x64.tar.xz) to a separate directory. This record identifies an application binary bundle; check the required system libraries and architecture before launch.

  2. 2

Use the publisher's launcher and update instructions. Extracting a tarball alone does not register a distribution package; the application may still have its own updater or desktop integration.
