Stencyl Overview
Stencyl is a game-creation tool for Windows and macOS that lets people build 2D games with little or no programming, from Stencyl, LLC. Its core is a block-based, drag-and-drop logic system, inspired by the kind of snap-together blocks used to teach programming, so you assemble game behavior visually instead of writing code. This makes it approachable for beginners and educators while still being capable enough for finished commercial games. Stencyl includes a scene designer for laying out levels, an actor and behavior system for game objects, built-in physics, and a library of reusable behaviors and assets that you can extend. For advanced users, it also supports writing custom code in Haxe to go beyond the blocks. Completed games can be published to multiple targets, including desktop, mobile, and the web. Stencyl is freemium, with a free tier and paid subscriptions that unlock additional publishing options. This page links to the official Stencyl download.
