Rive Overview
Rive is a tool for creating interactive, real-time animations and motion graphics for Windows and macOS (with a web editor), designed for animations that respond to user input and run inside apps, games, and websites. Unlike traditional video-based animation, Rive animations are vector-based and driven by a 'state machine' you design, so they can react to taps, hovers, and data in real time while staying tiny in file size. It exports runtimes for many platforms — web, iOS, Android, Flutter, game engines, and more — so designers and developers can ship the same animation everywhere. It uses a freemium model. The full offline editor installs without an internet connection, though collaboration syncs online. A community of shared files and templates helps newcomers learn, and a built-in event system connects animations to app logic. This page links straight to Rive's official Rive source.
