Rainmeter Overview
Rainmeter is a free, open-source desktop customization tool for Windows that lets you display useful, customizable information and controls directly on your desktop. Using small applets called skins, Rainmeter can show things like CPU and memory usage, network activity, disk space, the time and date, weather, music-player controls, RSS feeds, and system notes, arranged and styled however you like. A huge community has produced and shared countless skins and full desktop suites, so you can download ready-made designs or build your own by editing simple text configuration files, giving you fine control over appearance and behavior. Rainmeter is lightweight and runs quietly in the background, and because skins are just configurable text, the level of customization is effectively unlimited. It is a long-standing favorite for people who want a personalized, information-rich Windows desktop. The full offline installer holds the complete application, so it sets up on a machine with no internet connection. This page links to the official Rainmeter download.
