Lively Wallpaper is a free, open-source application for Windows that turns videos, GIFs, web pages, shaders, and even interactive scenes into live, animated desktop wallpapers, developed by rocksdanister. Instead of a static image, your desktop can show looping video, real-time graphics, web-based animations, or audio-reactive visuals that move with whatever music is playing. It supports a wide range of sources, from local video files to online streams and HTML pages, and includes a gallery of ready-made wallpapers as well as tools to add your own. Lively is built to be considerate of system resources: it can automatically pause playback when an application is running in the foreground or in full screen, helping preserve performance and battery life.
