Construct 3 Overview
Construct 3 is a 2D game-development engine from Scirra that runs in the web browser, used on Windows and macOS, designed to let people make games with little or no programming. Its core is a visual, event-based system: instead of writing code, you build game logic by creating events with conditions and actions in a readable, sheet-like editor, which makes it very approachable for beginners and educators while remaining powerful enough for finished commercial games. Construct 3 includes a scene editor for laying out levels, a large set of built-in behaviors and effects, physics, and animation tools, and because it runs in the browser there is nothing heavy to install and projects are saved and edited online or locally. Games can be exported to many platforms, including the web, mobile, and desktop. For those who want to go further, it also supports JavaScript coding alongside the event system. Construct 3 is subscription-based, with a free version available for learning and smaller projects. This page links to the official Construct 3 download.
