Internet Download Manager Overview
Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a download-acceleration and management tool for Windows that increases download speeds and organizes files. It accelerates transfers by dynamically segmenting files and downloading the parts simultaneously, and supports resuming interrupted or broken downloads, scheduling, and queue management. A signature feature is its tight browser integration, which detects downloadable media — including videos on many sites — and offers to grab them with a one-click button. IDM is trial software that requires a license for continued use after the trial. It also automatically restarts downloads dropped by connection problems, sorts completed files into category folders, and supports a wide range of browsers through its extension, which together make it a long-standing favorite for managing heavy downloading.
