Godot Engine Overview
Godot Engine is a free, open-source (MIT) game engine for Windows, macOS, and Linux used to build 2D and 3D games and interactive applications. It features a scene-and-node architecture, a built-in script editor with its own GDScript language plus C# support, a visual editor for scenes and animations, and one-click export to many platforms including desktop, mobile, and the web. Because it is fully open source with no royalties or subscription, it has become a popular choice for indie developers and studios. A built-in asset library, an active community, and a separate.NET build for C# round out the ecosystem, and the editor itself is a small download that runs without installation. The download is a self-contained executable — there is little to install — and it runs without a network connection. This page links to Godot Engine Community's official Godot Engine download.
