DVD Shrink Overview
DVD Shrink is a free, long-standing Windows utility for backing up DVD-Video discs by compressing their contents to fit onto a single recordable DVD. It can re-author a disc — letting you keep just the main movie or selected titles and remove extras — and compresses the video so a dual-layer DVD fits onto a standard single-layer blank, then either burns directly (with a burning tool) or saves an ISO image or files. Although it is old and no longer actively developed, it remains widely used for simple DVD backup tasks. Always ensure your use complies with local copyright laws. It includes deep and quick analysis modes, can preserve or strip menus and audio tracks, and works alongside a separate burning program to write the result to disc. This page links to a DVD Shrink official/reference source so you reach the genuine program rather than a bundled or modified copy.
