Cinebench Overview
Cinebench is a free benchmarking tool for Windows and macOS from Maxon that measures a computer's processor (and, in some versions, graphics) performance using the same rendering engine as Maxon's professional 3D software, Cinema 4D. It renders a complex scene and produces a score, testing both single-core and multi-core CPU performance, which makes it a popular, real-world way to compare processors and verify performance after upgrades or overclocking. Because its workload reflects actual 3D rendering, its scores are widely cited in hardware reviews. Because each new release updates the rendering workload to reflect current software, scores from different Cinebench versions are not directly comparable, but within a version it gives a consistent, repeatable measure of processor performance.
