WezTerm Overview
WezTerm is a free, open-source, GPU-accelerated terminal emulator and multiplexer for Windows, macOS, and Linux, written in Rust. It renders text quickly using the GPU and offers a rich, cross-platform terminal experience configured entirely in the Lua language, which makes its behavior highly customizable. Built-in features include tabs and split panes (multiplexing) without needing a separate tool, ligature and emoji support, true color, a powerful key and mouse binding system, and the ability to connect to remote hosts and persist sessions. It appeals to developers who want a fast, consistent, scriptable terminal across operating systems. The full offline installer bundles the application and installs without an internet connection. It also supports SSH and serial connections natively, and its multiplexer can persist sessions across reconnects. This page links to the official WezTerm download.
